Teoh inquiry: No sign of struggle on window, CI told

Members of the Commission of Inquiry into Teoh Beng Hock's death visited the site of the incident at Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam this morning. Commission Chairman, Tan Sri James Foong Cheng Yuen and four other members arrived at the building at 9.50am. This was the first time that members of the Commission visited the site since it began proceedings on Monday. Other members of the Commission are former Federal Court judge Datuk Abdul Kadir Sulaiman and former Appeals Court judge Datuk T. Selventhiranathan while the forensic experts comprised Forensic Pathology Consultant of the Penang Hospital's Forensic Medical Department Datuk Dr Bhupinder Singh and Forensic Psychiatry Consultant and Dean of Medical Faculty of Kolej Universiti Sains Perubatan Cyberjaya Prof Dr Mohamed Hatta Shaharom.

Chief Inspector Mazli Jusoh, who conducted the crime scene investigation, told the Commission of Inquiry (CI) into the death of Teoh Beng Hock that he found no sign of a struggle on the Level 14 window at Plaza Masalam from where Teoh fell out.

He said six fingerprint marks were found on the window but did not lift them as they lacked "characteristics".

Mazli said the window was opened 15 inches (38cm) when he arrived at 5pm.

Pathologist Dr Khairul Azman Ibrahim took hair samples from the deceased after Mazli found oily marks on the window.

Tan Sri James Foong Cheng Yuen heads the CI.

Teoh, who was political aide to Selangor exco Ean Yong Hian Wah, was found dead on the fifth floor corridor in Plaza Masalam on July 16, 2009, after being questioned by the Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) a day earlier.

He was questioned for alleged irregular disbursements of state funds by MACC officers at their Selangor office located on the 14th floor of Plaza Masalam.
