Her body was found by a security guard, who broke open the apartment door after complaints of foul smell by her friends.
It is learnt that several friends noticed the victim was missing for about a week and went to look for her at the apartment.
Police believe that the student had died about a week ago. State Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Hamdan Majid said the case had been classified as sudden death.
"Maggots had already set in when we found the body. The body has since been sent to the Seremban Hospital for a post-mortem."
